Wire Sizing
Based on NEC / NFPA 70: National Electrical Code (2011) for DC wire sizing for a long life of the electrical cables, the wire sizes are recommended for the main power cable from the Roof (Solar Panels & Wind Turbine) to the Distribution Box in Ground Floor:-
(a) Lighting Circuit - xx Sq MM two core using Blue & Yellow.
(b) Fans Circuit - xx Sq MM two core using Red & Black.
The wire diameter will be determined by the Ampacity calcuations of each circuit and distribution. Wire colors are recommended for uniformity. These comply with equivalent IEC & BIS norms.
Wire Specifications & Cabling
The “Treeing” phenomena was discovered in PVC insulated wires which caused deterioration based on the polarization of the insulation of the material, and particularly in AC wiring. Kindly refer to cabling size layout given below.
Core. Since the main conduit from the roof to DP Boxes in each floor will also have AC Cabling, we believe that installation of Two Core Cables faciliatate differentiation. Kindly use recommended color codes if available, else ensure uniformity in installation.
Summary
Wiring is a one time investment and should have long life and ensure safety. The above parameters have been worked out to ensure DiyaStar® installations always complies with internationals standards.
